Preston Montague presents landscape design concept to Creation Care Committee

Holly Springs, NC – Preston Montague, a landscape designer with Greenscape Inc., recently presented a functional and sustainable landscape plan to the Creation Care Committee at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Wake Forest. The Committee oversees the development of the church’s landscaping and wanted a plan that would accomplish multiple goals while keeping with their core values of ecological service and sustainable development.

“The church has a long list of basic needs (visual buffer planting, tree work, etc.), and they approached me to help them decide what to do,” says Montague. “They are very concerned with ensuring the land is properly cared for in a sound, sustainable way. With these values in mind, I suggested a functional landscape design that links nature and people with the land. A space for gathering with edible plants to provide berries for birds and flowers for pollinators could be an ideal solution for the space and meet their goals.” St. John’s is currently developing their budget and working to identify grants to support landscape development and future care.
